Dell may not have the best reputation for quality within the computer industry however their XPS range of Ultrabooks have been excellent additions to the Ultrabook market over the past 6 months and their latest, the Dell XPS 13, is testament to this.
Featuring an Intel Core i5 1.6GHz processor, 4GB RAM, a speedy 128GB SSD and a gorgeous 13.3” Gorilla Glass Display (yes, just like a tablet!) the XPS 13 is one of Dell’s very best Ultrabooks yet.
Other stand out features of this Ultrabook include that it boasts a carbon fibre and aluminium construction, which not only make the XPS eye-catching, but also keeps it extremely light and compact. The tapered design means that it’s only 6mm thick at it’s thinnest, and what’s more due to the materials used to create the XPS 13 this Ultrabook’s chassis may very well outlive other offerings on the Ultrabook market.
Whilst the Dell XPS 13 is a great looking, well featured Ultrabook though if you live in the UK as I do you will have found that coming across one isn’t all that easy, apart from the official Dell store of course. Well through some online shopping, digging and searching around, I have found one online retailer stocking it; John Lewis (aff link).
Currently, John Lewis have this registered as in stock and at £949. For this price, you get the specifications and features pointed out above as well as 8 hours of battery life and Windows 7 home premium. 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports further sweeten the overall deal.
Currently this Ultrabook has great reviews online from the likes of Techradar who gave it four and a half stars, and PC Pro who recommended it April 2012.
All in all if you are in the market for an extremely premium looking and well-designed Ultrabook which packs power and a Gorilla Glass display, then the XPS 13 could very well be the perfect Ultrabook for you.
