Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook Overview

Series 9

Samsung is one of the best brands in the world when it comes to televisions and smartphones, however when it comes to laptops the company is not as successful as HP or Lenovo in terms of worldwide shipments. This is no bad thing however, because in recent years the company has offered up some excellent budget, mid-range and top-end machines for consumers to choose from. The Samsung Q330, for example which was released back in 2010, was an excellent machine offering up portability and solid performance making it one of Samsung’s best selling laptops ever.

In more recent years Samsung has enjoyed decent reviews for more modern machines, including their Series 5 Ultrabook and more recently the Series 9, of which we are taking a look at today.

The Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook is a product designed for ultra-portability in mind, measuring just 13mm at its thinnest which is the same as a Macbook Air. Sporting a backlit keyboard and a chassis made predominantly from ‘Duralumin’, the laptop is amazingly equipped for a modern lifestyle such as a commute on the train to work.

Under the hood you will find the Series 9 is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Core i5-2467M processor backed by 4GB of RAM and Intel’s HD 3000 graphics chip, or a Core-i7 chip with 6GB of RAM, which is the norm for most super thin Ultrabooks currently. In reviews across the internet, the Series 9 delivered a PCMark performance benchmark rating of 2,263 in i5 spec, a decent all round performance.

The Samsung Series 9 is currently available online for around the £800 mark if you shop around. We have provided the full specification list below for this laptop, as well as an official Samsung link should you want to see more of the product.
